How do you start your daily social media marketing tasks? Do you follow a system, or just work on it whenever you can?

I suggest starting your morning with a few minutes working on your social media for the day. Here are the eight things you need to do each day for your social media accounts.

1. Check the Latest Statistics.

What were the results on yesterday’s activities? If a particular post or tweet garnered a good amount of shares and retweets, that’s something you’ll want to share again with your followers. If it was a tweet that brought you good traffic, then putting in front of more people is a no-brainer. Try sharing it at a different part of the day, ensuring that you will be found my more individuals. Buffer has a pretty cool “re-buffer” option that can help you with this.

. Check Mentions and Replies.

Listen and interact with people talking to you. The whole point of social media is to be social, so interact with anybody that you may have missed the day or night before. Thank people for sharing and RT’ing your content and reply to DM’s and mentions.

3. Monitor Your Brand Mentions.

Who’s talking about you without tagging you? If you’re using a tool like hootsuite, you can setup a stream based on a keyword and use it to monitor your brand name. No matter your efforts, you should definitely be in the know when someone mentions or discusses your brand.

4. Set Daily Goals. What do you want to get done today?

Are you hosting a webinar soon that you need to promote, or possibly having a sale next week you need to tell locals about? How many people do you need to get your message in front of and attracted to your website? These things need to be outlined and clear, and most of all, measurable.

5. Check Marketing Plan.

How will you get your content in front of more people?

6. Check the content schedule. Is all the content ready to go live?

This is actually an often overlooked task. Many times, websites will prepare pages to their website, blog articles, or even promo codes in advance, leaving it for publishing when the time arises. Oftentimes, this publishing can slip the mind and can cause you a ton of headaches.

7. Check your competitors. What are the competing brands up to today?

We all know to watch our competitors in general, but this also applies to social media. What are they sharing on a regular basis, and at what time’s are they sharing? Knowing what they’re doing, and why they’re doing it, can help your marketing strategies tremendously.

8. Follow the latest news and industry trends.

Are there any big stories or updates in your industry? This may be something you want to be a part of, or at least need to be in the know about.
