The Follow Up

You meet with a potential new account, and they don’t call you back. Happens to the best of us…

Setting up an email workflow for prospects like this is a perfect way to always keep them moving down the funnel.

home services marketing

Sure they might not close until next month or even next year. But, if you set the workflow up the right way, you can have the email marketing system do the work for you.

For example, you can setup a follow up email the week after your consult. Then, a friendly free tip on a common HVAC issue during the next month.

You can continue things like this as time goes on, before moving them automatically from the Follow Up workflow into your regular newsletter list.

Seasonal Reminders

Isn’t is a smart idea for home owners to have their HVAC inspected before firing up the AC for the year?

How about sending your leads an email that reminds them of this important fact, and offers a discounted price for choosing your company?

Services like MailChimp make this really simple, and easy to duplicate from one year to the next.

To reuse a campaign, follow these instruction:

  1. In the Content section of the Campaign Builder, click Design Email.
  2. On the Template step, click the Campaigns tab.
  3. Choose Recently Sent from the drop-down menu to use a campaign you recently sent to your list, or choose Drafts to use a campaign that hasn’t been sent. Both options display up to 25 templates. Draft only displays templates for campaigns with content.
  4. Click the template you want to reuse.

Your chosen layout will open in the Design step.

Save Your Campaign as a TemplateIf you think you’ll use a layout over and over again, you can save an existing email campaign layout as a template to speed up your campaign creation process in the future.

Behavior Automation

Automation based on behavior is always going to be a perfect solution. Whether it be with remarketing tactics through social media or email, you’re always going to want to try to touch a prospect when their behavior indicates that interest in your service is peaking.

Online tools like Hubsot and ActiveDEMAND (my personal favorite) offer automation tools based on behavior such as a visit to your website.

Imagine speaking with a prospect last quarter, and having the lead go cold.

But, this week, they come to your website in search of information. In years past, you wouldn’t be able to know this or do anything about it.

Nowadays, you can have an email setup and automatically sent to them that afternoon or the next day with some helpful information or answers to their question. And, because you’re Johnny-on-the-spot with the follow up, you get the opportunity to call that prospect to action!

Conclusion

Every prospect is different, and one tactic may work better for that person than the next. The idea is to be everywhere, and constantly in front of your prospect.

By incorporating these email marketing tips into your sales strategies, you’ll easily see a spike in conversions as prospects make their way down the sales funnel.
